Dr. Kerry Reed, Family Physician
Dr. Kerry Reed joined the Blue Sky Family Health Organization in September 2017, taking over Dr. Preston’s practice. Dr. Reed has an impressive CV, having attained her Honours Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry with Emphasis in Health Sciences, and her PhD in Biomolecular Sciences. She has had several publications and poster presentations in cancer research. Dr. Reed completed her Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Regional Cancer Program, Health Sciences North, Sudbury, ON, studying the Evaluation of RNA degradation as a clinical indicator of drug efficacy in breast tumour cells.

Dr. Reed has demonstrated this commitment and dedication to cancer research by co-chairing along with Dr. Katharine Shaw, the Nipissing Cancer Care Symposium in October 2018. This event was well-attended and received by the medical community as well the general public. Dr. Reed had arranged for various speakers from different specialties and different cities.

She continues to be actively involved in research in her family practice as well as with NOSM. She is involved with teaching at NOSM as well for medical students and residents. She is a super-user with Telus PS Suites EMR and have been instrumental in setting up toolbars and forms to improve our patient interaction and treatment. She is valuable and respected colleague and member of our medical community and would be described as a quiet leader, leading by example. She has transitioned into Dr. Preston’s practice with hard work and dedication and is well-liked by her patients. She is extremely calm, conscientious and very passionate about the practice of Medicine.
